Overview

The Salon Reception Desk is the first piece of furniture your clients see. A curved front in vertical fluted oak, a travertine-look stone top and a brushed brass kick strip give it a warm, high-end look that suits salons, day spas and boutique barbershops. We manufacture it in our Foshan factory to your size and ship it factory-direct.

Construction and finishes

The curved body is built on a timber frame with moisture-resistant board, and the fluted front uses solid oak or oak veneer battens. The top is a sintered stone or quartz-look surface in a travertine pattern, which resists stains and scratches better than real travertine. The brass-tone kick strip protects the base from shoes and vacuum cleaners.

Working side

Behind the front, a lower work counter at desk height holds a computer, card terminal and phone, with grommets for cables. Drawers and a cabinet store gift cards, retail stock and supplies. A salon reception desk should keep cables and clutter out of sight, and the raised front transaction ledge does that.

Care and placement

Wipe the top with a mild pH-neutral cleaner and dust the fluting with a soft brush. Place the desk with a clear view of the entrance and waiting area, and leave at least 36 inches behind it for staff to move. Retail shelves often sit behind or beside it.

Reception is also where clients pay, rebook and browse retail, so think about workflow when sizing the desk. One staff position needs about 48 to 55 inches of desk width; two positions need around 71 inches or more. A salon reception desk with a lower accessible section helps meet ADA counter requirements, and we can build that into the curve without changing the look from the front.

Questions buyers ask

Can the reception desk be made to my size?

Yes. The standard desk is about 71 inches wide, and we can make it from about 55 to 98 inches, with a tighter or gentler curve. Send us your space dimensions or floor plan, and we will propose a size and a drawing with the quotation.

Is the top real travertine?

No. The top is sintered stone or quartz with a travertine look, which is harder, less porous and easier to keep clean than natural travertine. Real stone tops can be quoted if you prefer, but they need sealing and more care.

Can it meet ADA counter requirements?

We can build in a lower section at an accessible height. ADA 2010 Standards require part of a sales or service counter to be no higher than 36 inches. Confirm the exact requirements with your architect or contractor, and we will build to their drawing.

How is the desk delivered?

The desk ships in sections on pallets by LTL freight, with liftgate on request. Sections bolt together on site with the supplied hardware, and the top is installed last. Most contractors complete assembly in a few hours. Inspect each crate before signing for the delivery and note any visible damage.
