Overview

The Double-Sided Island Styling Station turns open floor space into two working positions. Two large round mirrors are mounted back to back on a blackened steel frame, with an oak counter and brass tool holders on each side. Placed in the middle of a salon, it creates a strong visual focal point and makes better use of large rooms. We build it in our Foshan factory and ship factory-direct.

Frame and finishes

The frame is welded steel with a blackened finish, sized to carry the mirrors and counters steadily. The counters are moisture-resistant board with oak veneer and a sealed finish. Brass-tone tool holders keep dryers and irons on hand. The base can be bolted to the floor for stability; your contractor should confirm the fixing method for your floor type.

Power and cables

An island salon styling station needs power in the middle of the room. Plan floor boxes or a ceiling drop with your electrician before the floor is finished. The frame includes a cable channel so cords run hidden from the floor to each counter. Any outlet module supplied is built for 110–120V/60Hz, with listing status confirmed per model in the quotation.

Layout and cleaning

Each side of a double-sided salon styling station needs about 6 feet of clear depth for the chair and stylist, so an island needs roughly 14 to 15 feet of room depth including the unit. Wipe counters with a mild disinfectant and clean mirrors with glass cleaner.

Islands work best in rooms at least 20 feet wide, where perimeter walls are already used for wall-mounted stations. A common layout is a row of wall stations along both sides with one or two island stations down the center, which can add two to four stylist positions without enlarging the salon. Because the frame, mirrors and counters are built in our Foshan factory, they can be sized to suit your room and matched to the rest of your stations.

Questions buyers ask

How do I get power to an island station?

Plan a floor box under the island or a ceiling drop with your electrician before the floor is finished. The frame has an internal cable channel to each counter. A licensed electrician should complete the wiring to local code. Plan these positions early, as moving a floor box after the floor is finished is costly.

Does the island need to be fixed to the floor?

We recommend bolting the base to the floor so it stays steady when stylists lean on the counters. The fixing method depends on your floor; your contractor should choose anchors suited to concrete, timber or raised floors. Ask your contractor to check the floor before installing the island.

How much room does an island station need?

Each side needs around 6 feet of clear depth for the chair and stylist, so plan roughly 14 to 15 feet of room depth across the island. Leave walkways of at least 36 inches at each end. Send us your floor plan and we can check the fit with the quotation.

Can I order a single-sided version?

Yes. A single-sided version on the same frame works against a half-height wall or as a room divider. Wall-mounted stations such as our Salon Styling Station are also available in matching finishes. The single-sided version uses one mirror and one counter on the same frame design.
