Overview

The Recline Backwash Unit with Leg Rest is designed for salons that sell the wash as part of the experience. An electric leg rest extends at the touch of a button, so the client lies back with legs supported instead of feet on the floor. The sculpted one-piece body in taupe leather-look upholstery, white glazed ceramic bowl and chrome mixer tap make it a centerpiece in an upscale wash area. As a factory-direct manufacturer, we build each order in our Foshan factory to the colors and finishes you approve.

Electric leg rest and bowl

A small electric motor extends and retracts the leg rest. The unit is built for 110–120V/60Hz US power; listing status (UL/ETL) is confirmed per model in the quotation. Plan an outlet behind the unit, ideally GFCI protected as required near water. The white glazed ceramic bowl tilts to fit each client’s neck, and the chrome mixer tap with spray connects to hot and cold supply. A licensed plumber and electrician should complete installation.

Comfort for longer services

With the leg rest extended, the backwash unit supports the client from head to calf, which makes longer services such as scalp treatments, Olaplex-type bond treatments and toning comfortable. The seat is high-density foam over a steel frame. The bowl rim sits around 38 inches high.

Cleaning and layout

Rinse the bowl and clean the hair trap after each client, and wipe the upholstery with a vinyl-safe disinfectant. Keep water away from the leg rest switch and motor. Each unit needs around 30 to 32 inches of width and about 7.5 feet of depth with the leg rest extended plus stylist space. Grouping units along one wall keeps plumbing and electrical runs short.

Questions buyers ask

Does the leg rest need electricity?

Yes. The leg rest uses a small electric motor built for 110–120V/60Hz. Plan an outlet behind each unit, ideally GFCI protected as is usual near water, and have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit. Listing status (UL/ETL) is confirmed per model in the quotation.

Is a backwash unit with leg rest worth it?

For salons selling longer services such as scalp treatments, bond treatments and glossing, it noticeably improves comfort and can support premium pricing. For quick washes before a cut, a standard bowl and chair is enough. Many salons install one or two premium units alongside standard ones.

How much floor space does it need?

Each unit is around 30 to 32 inches wide. With the leg rest extended it is about 70 inches long, and you should add about 3 feet behind the bowl for the stylist. Plan roughly 7.5 to 8 feet of depth in total.

Who installs it?

A licensed plumber should connect the hot and cold supply and the drain through a hair trap and P-trap, plus any backflow device required locally. A licensed electrician should confirm the outlet. The unit is delivered by LTL freight; liftgate delivery can be arranged on request.
